Evergreen Indian Restaurant

When we first moved to Eugene from Chicago (a veritable hub of fantastic, authentic Indain cuisine) we were pretty disappointed with the quality of Indian dishes served at other restaurants here. Evergreen was the third place we tried, and we only go here now! I'd definitely say it's the highest quality in Eugene, so it comes close enough to what we were used to in Chicago. The service can be slow, especially on the weekends, but the wait staff is very nice and the food is delicious. We have only come for dinner hours, so I can't speak to the lunch buffet experience, but I'm sure it's pretty good as well.

Everything I had one the menu seemed very fresh and high quality. The service was quick and attentive. My one compliant is that the food was a little bland. I usually expect Indian food to be extremely flavorful, but I had to add salt and extra condiments. My hope is that the owners will stay true to the original recipes, and not dumb things down for the average Eugene pallet.

Delicious! Excellent service! It could stand to have a less stark atmosphere, maybe some softer lighting, but that's a small complaint compared to all of what is great about it.
